IIRC, scripting your own account is bannable, so you can't download the contents of servers you join. But I don't think there's any prohibition on inviting a proper bot account to download messages, provided you have admin ac

Several people in this thread have complained about it, but I haven't had any issues. It's O(log n), it has fuzzy search (e.g. noun/verb forms the same word), and you can add qualifiers like `from:Author#1234`. I can normally

This is the argument that most of these comments are making. But Discord isn't supposed to replace a bug tracker or documentation. It's supposed to replace IRC or a mailing list. The Linux kernel-dev mail list archives might techn

Kahneman addresses this in Thinking, Fast and Slow . (Which I highly recommend, by the way.) He argues that "expert intuition" is only helpful in an environment where intuition can be trained. That is, where there is obvious, imm

This is really interesting. I didn't know that the Linux kernel provided documentation like this. I thought my only recourse for learning about the internals of Linux were man pages, 3rd party tutorials, or reading the kernel source. T

Apache now offers mod_md[0], which implements AMCE directly, meaning that you don't need certbot. (I don't use Debian personally, but it looks like Buster and later support it.) I'm sure there are other options for other web

I've had issues with certbot in the past as well. Modern versions of Apache have mod_md[0], which implements AMCE, replacing certbot. Configuration looks like adding 2 lines to your Apache configuration file. [0]: https://ht

The Gemini protocol aims to exist in this space, I think. It's intentionally created a space away from the web, that you have to make a conscious effort to join. You can't get to Gemini pages through mindless clicking. And largely

I’m very impressed with what you’ve discussed here. I think there’s a real market for no-code website builders that are user-friendly. How do you justify charging $144/year for a static site? Carrd.co offers similar features and charge
