When you review while walking are you just looking at your phone? I’m wondering if there’s some less obtrusive way it could be done, like via smartwatch or even 100% by audio or something.

I thought the article was great, but nearing the end I noticed my phone was incredibly hot and realized it must be the snow effect.

Why are you trying to gaslight me? I know what I’m seeing. In my browser (Chrome with default settings), there are certain paragraphs where the first word of every line is partially obscured. There are others where the last word of every li

Yeah I like the idea of combining code and a visual editor of some kind. Many of my current openscad projects are just mixing code with SVG files, which is finicky and feels like it could easily be improved.

I read the article on mobile and I thought it was great. Then I looked at it on my desktop (in Chrome) and found it much harder to read. There are even images literally blocking off whole portions of certain paragraphs. It's not good.

Unless I’m missing something, this has already been known, though the hypertrophic benefits start to reduce beyond 30 reps.

Well no, you just need to tune the taste of the model to produce things that humans find appealing. This has already happened with the image generation models. I don’t see any reason it can’t happen with these code generation models too. Th

It’s incredibly naive to believe that all technological advancement contributes to the progress of humanity.

I don’t think the name confusion can really be blamed on “The Indie Game Awards”, it has to be on “The Game Awards” for choosing the most generic possible name.

That is not the sort of thing people are referring to when they use the term “generative AI”. It’s basically a completely different technology and the ethical concerns around data sourcing and energy usage are not the same at all.

It does it every time I save the file instead, basically the regular openscad workflow of update-on-save, but instead of doing a preview it’s just full rendering all the time.

Yes everything this person said is correct. The Manifold backend is no joke, probably 100x faster. To do multi-color printing it’s pretty easy now, just turn on the poorly named feature in preferences called “lazy-unions”. This will make it

It actually renders things incredibly fast if you get the nightly version and set the backend to Manifold. It is probably 100x faster (!!). In fact it renders so fast that I put a render() command at the top of my hierarchy so that everythi

Yes, but the main downloads on the site are very old for some reason. Just get the nightly version instead, and then in Preferences -> Advanced -> Backend change it to “Manifold”. It will make your models “render” 10x faster (or more!

Why not? Surely it would feel better giving up the money knowing that everyone as wealthy as him had to give up the same amount. At a certain level, wealth is mostly used for comparative purposes anyway, so even less of the utility of his m

Ok but what happens when you reach the point where the LLM makes fewer mistakes than the human? Where it’s better at spotting potential memory corruption and security holes? It doesn’t feel like we’re very far from that point.

That’s because the motorcycle thing is too simlistic of a comparison. It doesn’t come nearly close to capturing the nuance of the whole LLM “thinking” situation.

How do they ruin interviewing? The whole point of these puzzles is that they’re meant to be fun to solve, not a means to an end, but enjoyable for what they are.

This is only a problem when you have very limited housing supply, so you need to combine it with things like better housing/zoning policies and rent control.

People’s habits are not usually driven by such long term thinking, but I think there’s a more fundamental thing you’re missing: People will continue to work as long as there is an advantage to working. In any well designed UBI system, those
