This kind of argument is always absurd to me because it doesn’t matter if it learns like a human or not, it’s still not a human. (I would also argue that it learns and generates images in ways that are non-human, just based on speed and sca

Why does that matter once there are enough charging stations and you have enough drones? Once you have enough battery life to do any single delivery and return to a charger, that’s all you need, everything else is just a bonus.

Just because Unity’s revenue from ads is greater than from the engine doesn’t mean they need to change their model. It’s ok for one part of their business to make more, especially when the engine is still making lots of money too.

Epic’s model is 5% not 15%. 15% would be absurd.

The fact that they’re a private company helps a lot. There’s less incentive to extract money from customers in new ways that are lucrative in the short term but damaging in the long run. I think their company structure also helps, where emp

There’s a really obvious difference of scale, where you could kill millions without needing millions yourself. The implications when it comes to terrorism are scary. In that sense it’s similar to the threat of nuclear weapons, but the techn

Isn’t it inevitable that the stuff in the video will happen then, specifically autonomous murder drones? I don’t really see a way to prevent that in the future… which is terrifying.

I’m not talking about that kind of philosophy, I mean their development philosophies, the kind of things that would directly impact the directions they take the product in.

How is criticizing the creator of a project a form of clout chasing? It seems important to know the philosophy of the creator of a project, especially when that project is not yet finished.

I enjoyed Red Alert a lot but it still wasn’t nearly as good as StarCraft. It comes down to how each unit type felt more unique, and how much each individual unit mattered. The three totally unique sides helped a lot as well.

The new D&D movie that just came out a few months ago was actually pretty fun, and it has a 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

They appear to be already accounting for that since they are measuring 30-day mortality for acute conditions. They’re saying it’s possible the reduced mortality is due to the high risk procedures actually being unnecessary.
