I think the Total is not the combination of the above listed items. The listed items are just sub categories. See the "Duration" column. Out of 108h he did a 18h burn in.

Ah yes, I mixed up raid5 and 6. I think it's still fine for casual home setups. Depending on data and backup strategy.

I can't remember the details, but was that not specifically for hardware raid controllers? 2000s style. I think for home use with MDADM or raid z2 on zfs it's just gucci. It's cost effective.

The typical CCC / Hackerspace - circle is kinda progressive / left leaning. At least in my experience. Which I think she(or he?) was implying. Of course not every hacker is :)

In the 3D printing realm most slicers are open source. And I think a lot of professionals are also using them. Though maybe not in the very expensive end of industrial printers.

I dislike using Gimp. Always have. There is just something about it that does not click with me. Just selecting a foreground object even when the background was almost white never worked for me. Just so fiddly. I can get stuff done with it.

> Why would I want to use Teams on Linux? One reason to use Linux is to avoid such bloatware with unbearably poor UX. That might be YOUR reason, but I'm sure there are plenty to use linux besides to avoid bloatware.

And it will run at the same speed. But I would guess a lot of apps will requier more ram at some point. OP said it should last for " at least 5 years from now, if not more." which I doubt. Maybe for light webbrowsing.

I currently use OneTagger https://onetagger.github.io It's more for adding tags before you add them to your collection. You can setup shortcuts to often used tags. Of course it can also rename and move files based on tags.

Teams works fine for my limited needs. Though it feels sluggish, sometimes a chat or calendar takes 3 seconds to load.

Oh neat. One of the examples is a Strudel.cc track. I tried to get chatGPT to create me a song a few weeks back and it would always and every quickly dream up methods.

Mine is probably not for sell any more. It's from Eufy. No camera, thus no carpet detection.
