I really don't get this whole, reposting old articles on Medium thing. This was originally posted in 2009 on their blog: https://signalvnoise.com/posts/1941-press-release-37signals-... Does Medium really drive th

I object to this sort of phrasing when describing someone being hired. People aren't property, you can't "steal" a person (you can kidnap them sure). They made him a better offer than the one Google had for him, and he

I believe a plugin system was in the works, so paid plugins and the like might be a possibility. There would without a doubt be a lot of work to do on it, it's been over a year, and Node itself has changed dramatically not to mention

This was previously discussed in the IRC Channel on Freenode. None of the people that have contributed have shown interest in taking over the project. And the majority of the community we have don't know their way around JS/Node

At the moment no further development is planned at all. So if you want this feature I'm afraid you'll have to build it yourself or find an alternative. There have been multiple mentioned in the thread, one in particular I have h

It would perhaps be best, up until today the website got only a trickle of traffic so no one bothered with it. It will probably be updated in the coming week or two to reflect the current status.

Hey there, I'm an admin on the IRCAnywhere help channel (Gnasher), and a friend of the creator. The project is currently discontinued. The creator currently has no time outside of work to dedicate to the project and make updates. Du

I've always thought there needs to be more "for-profit" charities like TOMS[0]. The premise of TOMS was originally they sold shoes, and for every pair that was bought they'd donate a second pair to someone else. In my o

Privacy concerns aside, I'd be very interested on how they're doing this on a technical level. Does anyone know if they've published a post on how this is done yet? Or have any ideas on how they think it's being done?

Hey man. You might want to take a step back and look at what you're currently doing. Your paranoia is really getting the better of you. The parent comment is from an aged account, linked to someone other than you suggest. In fact al

You know how when you write something in Microsoft Word, and then copy it out into an editor, it takes terrible and broken HTML markup with it? That is exactly what has happened. The author has written the post in Word copied it to blogsp

I think you might, it certainly can't hurt. As others have mentioned, there are other things you should consider too, such as reducing page complexity, load time, and the like.

The only way to definetly know if it will be better for SEO is to test it. I would say go for it. If anything it will at least simplify your URL structure and make it easier to navigate. Remember when you update it, to update your sitemap

That's what I thought, but the SSL certificate shows the site actually belongs to Paypal. Domain also belongs to Paypal Inc. Seems to just be a badly designed and dodgy looking site on Paypals end.

Having recently done this what I like to do is perform some actions, and follow it through the codebase. So for example on a web project, what happens when I hit the index page? First it hits the router/dispatcher, it is handed off to

I have looked at the price lately. In fact using the Coindesk chart[0], over the last 3 months it has swung between 200 and 300 USD you are correct. But a drop from 300 to 200 USD is still volatile as hell. It means that my Salary could

I would definitely not. For many reasons, but the volatility alone is enough to put me off of it. Losing a months income to a flash crash? Not only that, but I'd have to convert it to fiat anyway to pay for 99% of the things I spend

Ten days seems really, really low. No legal minimum also seems like a problem. This explains for me why it seems a lot of US developers claim to suffer from burnout and the like. Breaks from work are very important.
