This seems like a critique of what I would regard as Stoicism "taken too far." The most helpful parts of Stoicism for me are understanding and accepting that awful things might happen I can't do anything about, the hedonic tr

Stoicism unites key principles of early Christian thinking, Buddhist thinking, and modern humanist techniques for transcending mental illness (CBT/DBT.) It filters down from here through almost every bit of psychological self help you

The story itself was iffy, but the campaign's aesthetic and maps were AMAZING. I still remember the "defend the harbor" mission where you had one Moho mine and you had the long range destroyers showing up and desperately salv

Reminds me of a list of "copyright myths" I saw in school. The first nine were, "you think you can do this simple thing, this reasonable thing, or have any freedom whatsoever? SCREW YOU." The tenth claimed it was a myth

F.E.A.R.s bots are by no means intelligent - they're really dumb and predictable, at least once you've played through a couple times - you know that they're going to seek another angle when they get blocked, and there's

Recent events in my country (the US) have shown that visas don't really mean much of anything - here one day, gone the next. Most times they will be fine, but you can't trust them.

I can't check without the article, but some mistakes I've seen - ignoring reinvested dividends (~2%/yr,) and unrealistic tax figures on the other side, you've got people who ignore inflation and assume 10% a year returns

Guliani is not the President. Trump is, and Bannon is a top advisor. Trump went to Guliani asking for a Muslim ban and asking how to dress it up; Guliani complied (in a really, really incompetent fashion.) Bannon's views are quite av

I've seen restrictions on a visa waiver compared to preventing green card holders from returning to their homes. Here I'm seeing total admission to the country if you can get here compared to banning people who already have visas

I agree that Uber should have participated in the strike. You said "welcome to post-truth politics" and "clearly and unambiguously untrue." Please demonstrate that I am a liar.
