When I moved from PHP to Ruby (and Rails), I discovered how much fun programming can be. Ruby just optimizes for the right thing, Developer happiness.

I'd rather have a polluted $HOME than a polluted env that slows down every fork. The script should have a --without-env option or similar.

I use Sendgrid with this docker container: https://github.com/marius/postfix-sendgrid It is free for up to 100 emails per day.

I'd mention fearless concurrency on the website/blog post, as that distinguishes your webserver from, say, caddy.

Still looks much less beautiful. Python feels to me like it can't make up its mind.

I hope not, that would turn Ruby into just another of the myriad of statically typed languages. Try Crystal if you want less dynamic typing.

Is anyone self-hosting this on FreeBSD? Would you share how you set it up? I tried to understand how the docker setup works, but found it to convoluted to replicate on FreeBSD.

Thank you for the feedback! I agree that completion would be nice to have, and probably relatively hard to implement for koch. However, I prefer the cleanliness, dare I say beauty, of the config file and Ruby.

IMHO Ruby is better for creating DSLs, so I wrote a small thing to scratch my own itch: https://github.com/marius/koch This is not meant to scale to more than a handful of machines, but you get the idea how nice straig
