Last time I checked Zynga was still spending money on acquiring users that belong to Facebook, on Facebook.

For those considering Twig or other templating alternatives: http://phptemplatinglanguage.com/ Really, PHP itself is a fine templating language if used properly. Get to know the short tags (including the short echo <?=$stuff?>) an

I think it's good this way, it forces the developer to think about the implications of escaped vs unescaped output. The way I see it, having htmlspecialchars/htmlentities applied automatically by a template engine is a close relative to the

Only array literals were implemented though, not objects. That was long overdue, but in the age of JSON we live in it's not enough. For instance, the following in Javascript: var myObject = { memberOne: 'some string value', member

I hate how to this day PHP still lacks of an obvious way to write object literals, instead forcing you to either cast arrays, which is verbose and ugly, or use stdClasses, which personally I do but damn are they a pain to use and maintainin

What kind of contract does VMWare use to sponsor open source projects? Because up until now I thought sponsoring and buying ownership were different things.

This would be useful actually. I wrote "if !hasClass addClass, else removeClass" countless times until I figured, hey, maybe jQuery has a toggleClass function, I should look it up. These situations could be avoided if a "related functions"

Am I the only one who thought this has startup potential? It sounds like a problem in search of a solution. I can picture for instance a service that would take a page, scan it, remove all the unnecesary clutter and make it as much screen r

> iOS fluidity still has no equal I've been using the iPhone for a while before switching to a Nexus 4, and honestly there is nothing that feels more fluid on iOS than on a Nexus 4 running jelly bean 4.2.1.

IMHO, no modern JS developer should ever need to create a blocking alert or prompt; the reason the native alert or prompt functions block is because, well, they are not designed for what the web is today.

According to the link the data was collected through an app. This is not Facebook's fault, this is the developer being an idiot, because Facebook TOS are very clear when it comes to data; the developer is in big trouble if found.
