The example is just one example. For some parents, it's this but all the time with different things. ASD* kids don't learn like neurotypical kids and if you treat them the same you will quickly get exhausted. As someone who has

No but everyone should jump away from SourceForge after the shady crap they pulled. Gitlab is also a thing.

I don't think any individual knows anymore, it's just ML optimization for getting the most ads, presumably through engagement.

As a CollegeHumor fan (subscribed to Dropout), I can't really imagine what they might do with only 5-10 people. How could they even keep half their Dropout shows going, let alone keep cranking out skits on YouTube? A sad day for comedy

Any comparative study with a decent methodology would detect the problem of differing sensitivities per person (by checking the standard deviation among other things). The problem, as another comment points out, is that this study was done

We can barely trust pictures anymore either. It seems we'll be going back to judging the likelihood of one's actions based on one's reputation, for better or for worse. There soon won't be such a thing as unreasonable do

I can scarcely believe the level of elitism I'm seeing here. Guess what: Most art is garbage. Scorsese here is complaining that the movies we're seeing are the "bad" ones, but if we just went to see his preferred kind of

Sorry for all the people suddenly feeling vindicated but the sample size is kinda small to make such a broad statement. The "sorta double blind" study only has 40 participants, 20 of whom were doodling. Plus, it wasn't random

Not all branches of psychology are the same. Social psychology is generally pretty rigorous. For example you can calculate the average attitude and this will be consistently reproducible, assuming your methodology isn't too flawed. Of
