Try ballroom dance. You may be able to find a social dance or a group lesson. It's a good skill to have, and usually good fun, too.

I'm skeptical anything too extreme will take off right away, particularly since battery life is such a big problem for 3G-enabled devices at the moment. I haven't read up on 4G, so I'm not familiar with the power requirements, but I can't i

Either go 2 * 19 + 1 * 27 or 2 * 24. I don't think that 1 * 27 is going to cut it, particularly if you're doing GUI development. I don't feel that the consolidated workspace makes up for the loss in total surface area. My setup currently c

I would argue that these problems are less relevant with a good window manager. Mac OS and Linux's GNOME and KDE both natively provide support for virtual desktops, which help reduce clutter and distraction. Moreover, if you want to truly m

Can't you just edit the post? ...Or maybe you can pretend it was some sort of clever play on words next time. :)

No personal experience (currently applying for positions), but I know Skritter recently posted an offer of $4800 for 3 months plus housing and airfare. http://blog.skritter.com/2010/04/summer-intern-wanted-softwa...

Excellent idea. This would be a good solution if pg has the time to hack it together.

Doubtful. The video says that all content is licensed under Creative Commons... So I imagine they won't even accept regular, works already copywrited by a publisher. The specific license they're using can be found here: http://creativecomm

Apple does not support any development environment other than XCode on an Intel Mac. Thus, if you want to do Objective-C development, your best bet is to get your hands on a Mac. Barring that, you could rig up Hackintosh, or Hackintosh VM i

It's not perfect, but if you're learning Android UI, check out http://droiddraw.org/ . It's a WYSIWYG interface editor, like Interface Builder. It's not pretty, but I found it to be a good way to understand the fundamentals.

The experiences are comparable. First, I'll address your concerns about code signing: Android doesn't require you to go through quite the same certificate/provisioning profile insanity, but you will have to sign your applications before dis

I have to echo the sentiments of everyone else: as long as you'll be (reasonably) safe, do it. Having lived abroad myself (China), I can tell you that the experience will broaden your mind. Keep an open outlook and heed albertsun's advice t
