Absolutely, barring any environmental issues (moisture or heat), they will probably image just fine. But please note that Amiga formatted disks won’t be possible to read in a standard PC floppy drive. You’ll either need to use an Amiga with

But they had to do _something_, staying on the 68k wasn’t an option. It couldn’t compete with the Pentium and Motorola had effectively abandoned the series, focusing their efforts on the PowerPC. Apple made a lot of bad decisions in the 90s

Put yourself in the shoes of the developer of a midi sequencer in the 80s. You could target the Atari, where midi ports are standard and everyone with an interest in music is a potential customer. Or you can target the Amiga where there’s n

Well look no further than AROS: https://aros.sourceforge.io/ It’s a reimplementation of AmigaOS 3.1 that runs on x86, ppc, and m68k.

If we’re talking about macs, what you’re looking for is munki + AutoPkg. There are community supported recipes for pretty much everything out there, and for light touch management you can set the munki policy as a “managed update” - that is

Just a wild guess - are you using Firefox with the facebook container and seeing font issues on multiple sites? Upgrade to the newly released 2.3.4.

If you tried to build a Mac app based on Storyboards, which iirc has been the default for the past few years, then yes. All the docs are for iOS and the Mac side is completely under documented. The classic way of building building apps is q

No more than on an 8-speed cassette. The stack height is the same, the gears are just closer together on the larger cassettes.

Is that related to checkwinsize sometimes becoming unset? I’ve never managed to find a pattern to when it happens.

Can't upvote enough. Rudix is the only package manager that really meshes with the platform, instead of trying to create its own weird linux (or bsd) hybrid ecosystem. I used it heavily a decade ago, but sadly it never really took off.

That's essentially what backing up to your Mac instead of iCloud gets you. The data is encrypted with your key to a device that you control.

You can buy a 27" iMac together with an M1 Air for the same price as a 16" MacBook Pro and an eGPU. I don't understand why people insist on trying to convert laptops into desktops.

Same. I found out the hard way that if your mom butt calls you phone they'll switch over even if you're in the middle of a Zoom meeting on the Mac. Using your phone while watching Netflix on the computer also became a minefield.

Ah, I understand, and assigning custom shortcuts is an awesome macOS feature that I don't use nearly enough. Adding a menu item for "Pin current tab" seems like a pretty straightforward bugzilla request too.

Regarding Firefox, I'm unsure what you mean by "no macOS menu bar function for Pin Tab", is this something different from right clicking on a tab and selecting Pin Tab? And handoff took its sweet time but it has been supporte

Picking products based on feature checklists is how people end up buying horrible enterprise software, and then spend enormous resources trying to make it work. Doing everything implies not doing anything well. SimpleMDM doesn't try to

The 6502 has very limited pipelining, and every CPU cycle is tied to a memory access with no support for wait states or stalls. At 1 MHz it can work with really slow memory (roughly 500 ns), but at 10 MHz it needs ~60 ns, and at 20 MHz some

The "secure" part of secure boot only protects booting macOS, it doesn't safeguard against actors intercepting shipments and dropping malware before the customer performs MDM setup via DEP. E.g. it's trivial to sideload

I don't work at Facebook, but I'm fairly certain this is for things like build servers, not client machines. They use Munki for software updates, which, just like you describe, gives the user a grace period where they can reboot a
