Does webOS have hypercardish software?

I miss Hypercard. I would love to see something on that on the iPad. Of course, as things stand, it doesn't seem likely.

You can go unnamed for all your arguments, no need to feel the first one is being left out. [object method:1 :2 :3] is valid. =) On the other hand, Objective-C encourages verbosity, and in well-defined methods, I have a hard time considerin

Not that they necessarily say that much, but it would still be interesting to see the names of the patents in question.

I believe one of the most important ways for this to fit into people's lives is by seeing others (especially non-tech people) using it. So yeah, it'll take a while. I get the same kind of feeling as when the white headphones were starting t

A video of audience and police having at it. Sensationalist in some ways, but not very enlightening in and of itself.

Ah, those were the days. I remember "Talking Moose" as well. Having a computer that insults you is an underrated pleasure these days. =)

I really enjoy the collaborative editing functionality, I wish there were native apps with the same thing. Or at least that their collaboration approach was closer to the google one than the "handle version sent by e-mail" variant.

I would want/need the option of using it with a custom domain for it to be relevant for me.

Actually, it was more of a "AT&T accepted Apple's terms when it came to developing a new phone back before anyone had seen the original iPhone." As thanks, they got a 5-year exclusivity agreement with Apple.

I am fairly sure that is a rewrite from when I read it. I reacted on how they claimed the engineer was fired in no uncertain terms.

Since 2.x is just as feature stable and was just released in the last incarnation (2.7) before an "extended maintenance period", I do believe the limbo you speak of isn't an issue for anyone actually using Python. I can imagine it looking w

Wow, this is great stuff! As always with slides online, I wish I could get a transcript or even better a recording of the original presentation! I'm currently trying to switch to vim for all my editing, this certainly opens up a few doors t

It's for the Hollywood-created movie star webmasters of the future! After all, in the movies, everything must scroll incessantly. Kidding aside, it feels more useful if the rate of usage is slightly less than that in the demo... Seeing hits

I reacted to the "sharing the inbox" statement... One would hope they'd have a more efficient structure than that for their ticket handling, I'd say.

For me, one of the reasons of getting into basic vim usage was that it was the only editor I could count on always being available on the machines I was administrating. I learned just enough to be able to edit files with vi when necessary a

Well, the 2G is being phased out with the next OS release, meaning that even though people will still use their old one development will still be focused on a few core devices. The first major fragmentation will be with the new hi-res scree

I agree. Which is why those numbers aren't that interesting when comparing Android to iPhone OS, since iPod touches and iPads are a part of the platform. That being said, it clearly says that the Android platform is growing.

Unless you're doing quantitative research (which is hard when it comes to how people are using stuff) there are practical difficulties in handling all the data if you have a much bigger sample.

Interesting findings for iPad developers, there's a free 93-page download at the bottom as well. I would hate to see iPad development in the same quagmire as DVD menus.

I don't agree that the reason people think an e-book is worth less is overvaluating the cost of paper and ink. People feel that an e-book is worth less than a paper book because the physical experience of handling a book is worth more than
