I wonder if it’s that or simply a lack of slack in their system. It seems to me that just like pre-staged inventory helps in logistics management, that extra planes and crews in the rotation could improve operations under these circumstance

Disagree. This week has been dry, so no icing conditions taking out all sorts of key energy infrastructure (wind turbines being only one of many on that list) like last time.

I wonder why there isn’t a json file for map and other related details that could just be on each company’s website with location, hours, and other key metadata. I would imagine a map equivalent of an RSS feed would be nice, although compan

I just checked the offending site - it’s full of malware. I think if you report that aspect then you might get faster resolution from the search engines.

I highly recommend going back and reading The Accidental Superpower as well. Considering it was written a decade ago (pub. 2014) it’s amazing how correct he’s been in forecasting things. To be clear, there is a certain fuzziness in timefra

This is a hack job of an article. From the first paragraph, “ America’s latter-day robber barons can’t comprehend that workers sometimes get sick. ”. Really? So every person with the S&P 500 in their retirement account is a robber b

I think you nailed it - especially your 4th point: " If it was about real relevancy to you and not “who will pay the most given this bucket of basic attributes”, folks like me would probably hate advertising less. "

I think you might not be understanding the context of the argument. Google has tons of information on you - way more than it needs, and yet it still doesn’t get recommendations as good as we expect (as you rightly point out). So the issue i

I’m curious what Zuckerberg thinks when he sees things like this compared to Meta’s own attempts. The sheer magnitude of the difference has to make him wonder (and if not, shareholders certainly have!)

I highly recommend ready “The Panic of 1907”. After that, I think you might come to a different conclusion. Even if you don’t change your mind, it’s still a great read for those fascinated with panics and depressions.
