The entire framework is federal, the money comes from the fed, and the implementation is via fed grants given to local programs to achieve a broader result. It's a very federal program.

I think their point is not worth addressing on its merits. I downvoted them because while the article itself focuses on an $18M grant in RI, it also plainly states that this is part of $2B program that's aimed at all states, tribal lan

Can’t speak for anyone but myself and my experience anecdotally, having used Databricks: I consider them to be the Oracle of the modern era. Under no circumstances would I let them get their hooks into any company I have the power from prev

I would love to hire this person (in theory), but every job I post gets hundreds of inbound applicants, and while hiring is one of the most important aspects of my job, it is second to delivering software with value. I really don’t have tim

Very cool story! I love it. Here’s a direct archive link for those who want to support their fellow tech folks but don’t want to support habr, which directly funds Russia’s invasion of Ukraine: https://archive.is/wDHrB

To be fair, one can take a principled stance based on the nexus to the bad thing and the practical effects. It’s pretty undeniable that Russian invasion of Ukraine and the context around it makes it the worst active example of colonialism.

“Ending up in court” vs “Microsoft suing you.” I think the implication is that if MS simply decided to unilaterally fork the project and change the license, the OS maintainer’s only real recourse is the court system (and the court of public

I can only speak for myself, but I work on this stuff in this industry: Tesla’s choice is asinine at this point. It’s one thing to claim cameras only and find that won’t work and pivot, but they are so dug in that they can’t admit they were

This is why we have moved all interview loops to in-person. I highly recommend everyone who is a hiring manager do 100% of their loops in person. Granted, the coding section isn't 100% of the interview, but it's very important.

More competition in the US market perhaps? A number of my coworkers and friends have purchased new EVs over the past year and all but one of them went with a car other than Tesla. Mostly Polestars, one Lucid.
