There isn't. Thread/sleep will block the thread and potentially starve your thread pool. Be careful not to do it.

Yeah, Thread/sleep isn't quite what you want here: (time (let [c (chan), n 1000] (dotimes [i n] (go (Thread/sleep 50) (>! c i))) (dotimes [i n] (<!! c)))) "Elapsed time: 8412.25733 msecs" (defmacro gosleep [mi

rebase -i and add --patch were the dealbreakers Also I have yet to see a hg tutorial that didn't at some point recommend making a second clone of the repo in order to do something complicated.

From a user's perspective, Hg is so limited I consider it basically unusable.

Am I the only one who assumed this was for constructing charts of who you're in a relationship with, who they're in a relationship with, etc.?

lack of TCO doesn't mean it's a little slow, lack of TCO means that naive use of classic functional patterns blows the stack for big lists/structures/arguments.

Don't think further away. Think corners . Corners are easy to hit, you know where they are. Second from the corner requires more effort. Same reasoning as "hot corners" in operating systems.

You can use a git client with SVN pretty easily. Git is a far better SVN client than SVN is.

If you did as you said, you'd also see the length of the waves dynamically lengthening/contracting. If you saw it in person, it'd just look blurred out.

Ugh, no, I fought my way through git first, and I didn't think hg was the same when I encountered it, I thought hg was nigh-unusable after I thrashed at it for a week.

I think parent was more surprised by the idea that one would want a C-to-Lisp compiler, given that Lisp is more pleasant to write than C and C is usually more performant.

If you decide you no longer want a particular plugin, or want to upgrade it, it can be hard to tease out the files you /bin/cp'd into place. Adding a single folder under bundle makes removal easier later. ETA: also note that git-cloning int

I'm confused. Are we implicitly talking about C(++) here, or would you accuse, say, a Clojure developer using Leiningen of valuing novelty over value?

Right, Nature can publish a list of URLS which in their opinion is worth reading, and they can charge $50k to read that list if they like. Keep the papers in the open, is all.

Sorry, you're right, I conflated curation with peer-review. Is curation much harder? It seems like if you're already reviewing, you're most of the way there.

The curation is done by scientists volunteering their time to the journals. The publishers add nothing. They are parasites and deserve swift, merciless death.
