I agree with OP, actually. There's nothing inherently wrong with it, but my inner writer cringes, since it's a random throwback to Jobs' commencement speech, and it seems a bit out of place (especially in contrast to the prev

In VS, I use VSVim which lets me actually have both absolute and relative line numbers, but it probably wouldn't be difficult to write a vimbinding to bind enabling/disabling the line numbers plugin to a chord/hotkey.

From my investigations, a lot of the time symphony spends just using the classloader. i.e., it can't load dependencies fast enough.

It's actually kind of funny when you tell Java/C++ guys about how each time PHP receives a request, fires everything up from scratch, does the work, and then throws it all away. A fresh start each time. Jaw, meet floor.

Take for example remote/rural communities however. It is enormous investment to run fiber out to these communities. Eventually, the copper will need to be upgraded... In the mean time, this is an excellent stopgap measure.

I don't have any concrete numbers, but I can say with reasonable certainty that 60k/year is standard entry-level income at a couple large studios.

Hurr Hurr, two years right guys? Honeycomb was introduced in 2011. That's three years. And besides, Android is on design iteration #3, Apple is on #2, and I think most would agree iOS was aged pretty badly by the time it got #2. Person

I dismiss iCould because it's large data storage. It doesn't prove apple is any good with making web services that people want to use, just that they're good at sending data, receiving it, storing it for later retrieval. I&

I like to think Google gives you a choice of how you're being advertised to, product depending. Lots of times they give you the option to limit the data you send to marketing firms, or outright limit the data they collect (i.e. locatio

I disagree. Kindle is a shining example of this. Apple on the other hand... well, they created iTunes... but that's really the only "cloud" technology that they have besides the actual iCloud (hosted on AWS, possibly?). Apple

This is simply not true. My TDCT password is 32 characters long, and 8 of the 32 will not cut it. TDCT needs at LEAST 8 characters, one letter, one number, but no longer than 32 chars. I think some symbols are restricted.

I don't think that the addition of more features "makes the learning curve even steeper". It just extends the curve a bit farther. If using these new features where key to using Git, then yes, it would make it steeper. For th

The opposite, dropped packets are bad because it slows the Internet down. When you need to retransmit a packet because one is dropped, the network assumes congestion and radically throttles speed to prevent the network blowing up.

The pixel is very similar to a Macbook Air, (IIRC, thiner/lighter) except has a HD-touch screen. If they refreshed the processor, all that would be missing is a decent harddrive.
