It was both efficiency and knowledge/reasoning update. GPT-5 excels at coding, it solves tasks the previous versions just could not do.

It’s actually not. Most of the time if you ask it about a contentious political issue it will either give you a balanced view or a left-leaning one. Try it and see for yourself.

Yeah it’s insane they’ve totally ignored the privacy issue. Either they’re doing everything on device, which I doubt, or this is the biggest privacy disaster ever waiting to happen.

This seems huge to me. As in: the initial release of Google Chrome huge. I don’t know if they can really pull off things they showed but if they do I’m sure this will be a massive success. Which is pretty sad considering the privacy implica

I wonder scaffolding synthesis is the way to go. Namely the LLM itself first reasons about the problem and creates scaffolding for a second agent that will do the actual solving. All inside a feedback loop to adjust the scaffolding based on

Context degradation is a real problem with all frontier LLMs. As a rule of thumb I try to never exceed 50% of available context window when working with either Claude Sonnet 4 or GPT-5 since the quality drops really fast from there.

Silksong is objectively hard, and if you're trying to argue otherwise you're either the mythical "god gamer" or just trolling. The game is unapologetically hard and punishing right from the beginning. The very second bos

I've live streamed how I've built a tower defense game over a span of a week entirely using AI. I've also written down all the prompts were used to create this game, you can read about it here: https://news.ycombin

Speed absolutely matters. Of course if the quality is trash then it doesn't matter, but a model that's on par with Claude Sonnet 4 AND very speedy would be an absolute game changer in agentic coding. Right now you craft a prompt,

The high TTFT (around 5-6 seconds) is what kills the excitement for this for me. Sure, when it starts outputting its crazy fast so it’s good for generating single file prototypes, but as soon as you try to use it in Cline or any other agent

2000 tokens per second is absolutely insane for a model that's on par with GPT 4.1. However throughoutput is only one part of the equation, the other being latency. As of right now it looks like the latency for every API call is quite

When my cat passed away I wept like a baby. He was my friend and companion when we travelled across the country for 10 years. It’s been 5 years since and I still tear up whenever I think about him. Sending virtual hugs in your direction.
