That's a similar direction I'm headed in for http://www.iwaat.com . I think you'll see more sites like http://thetoolbox.cc being created since searching for web apps from google.com is painful. And I can confirm from experience that mo

By definition anything on their blog is PR for Exec. But it's also a fun, heartwarming story so I don't see the problem.

I've been using recruiter spam as an opportunity to promote my own project just by replying and asking them to check it out. While the total number of responses are small, I've gotten some decent feedback and made a few interesting contacts

Thanks. There's a number of app discovery services focused on mobile(chomp and crosswa.lk), which is why I chose to focus on webapps first. Located in San Mateo, CA.

Yup. They'd be the closest competitor. Although, they seem to be focused more on the technology than building a community which is my next focus.

I'm building http://www.iwaat.com , a search engine for web applications that I'm working to turn into a Yelp for apps. Also a solo founder looking for others to join me on this project. If you're building a web app feel free to add it to

I'm not so sure it's possible to tell whether you are an angel or VC company at such an early stage. It's like asking if I would risk my life to save someone else's. I know what I'd like to think I would do but will never know the true an
