I like to describe Go as "what you wish C were while you're writing C". Not "what C should be", that's probably Rust or something. Go is C, with the pain points filed off.

The majority of programmers are not freelancers/consultants/cross-team-employees, they're for the most part "stuck" on just 1 team except for switching jobs. And so sure, while a new project gets started somewhere

I had been lead to believe that it's a source-port + remaster, not a full remake. But IDK. Likewise, I assume the Doom 64 release is a source-port, not emulated.

NSO is a subscription, not a "purchase". There are good arguments to be made against subscriptions in comparison to purchases, but lots of "sane consumers" do buy in to such subscriptions with volatile content librarie

You don't get N64 or Sega Genesis with the basic Nintendo Switch Online subscription, you need to go for the more expensive "Expansion Pack" subscription to get those. The N64 library is quite small, and only has a handful of

I vaguely recall in ~2010 coming across a Plan 9 manpage(?) that seemed to imply that Emacs could work that way in a pipe (in reference to complex/bloated tools on non-Plan 9 systems), but that wasn't true of any version of Emacs

Lots of people find CRTs more pleasing to use than LCDs, because of better contrast ratios and lower latencies. But--fascinating--I've not heard of LCDs making people dizzy, do you have any idea what it is about the LCD that makes you
