So nice, that I was just reading about the disruptor, since I had an idea of using ring buffers with atomic operations to back Rust channels with lower latency for intra-thread communication without locks, and now I see this. Gonna take a r

Wouldn't Docker (or other container tools) be a good candidate? Instead of installing the toolchains locally, do the build on a container based on an image with the exact toolchain you need.

I use Authy _because_ it provides cloud sync. At the time, Google Authenticator didn't have it, and when I had to change phones it was a real hassle. Imagine if the phone had been stolen, no way to access the account normally to get a

4k, not really. For 1080p, it's pretty easy on older games or less demanding/extremely optimized ones (like DOOM).

Hmm, yeah it's a SoC, but not an ASIC. Maybe you mean APU? ASICs are circuits thst can only do one thing, CPU cores are definitely not that. Edit: an example ASIC the Pi has is the video encoder/decoder, with JPEG also supported.

Well, there are spreadsheet backends using Apache Arrow for storage. You could use something like pola.rs or Arrow DataFusion + Arrow Ballista for distributed processing of the dataset.

It is crazy that we (Spain) are importing olives from Morocco into the EU when we are the largest producer of olives in the world, more than doubling the second.

If you want something similar to Apple silicon for AI, look for AMD Instinct MI300A. 24 cores, 256MB cache, 128GB of HBM3 and 1 petaflop of FP16.
