If the Chinese gov did that after loading up on gold, and backed the chinese currency with a fraction of gold, they would have a much better chance of convincing others to drop the US dollar as a reserve currency. How do you go broke? Slowl

Most deaths from flu epidemics came from secondary infection. The flu has become a political and distribution problem like food. There are some very promising vaccines in the pipeline (including end of Phase 2 or in Phase 3) that protect we

This is how I do it as well. I use 300 microgram time released at sunset. Then a 1000 microgram instant release before bed. The 1000 microgram is not needed for me to get good sleep, but it puts my dosage at where body temp drops can be see

Snus does not require spitting. It is steam cured instead of fire cured and has a good safety profile. Note: If you want a good experience, import it. Do not try Camel snus. Also, you may want to try packets first instead of loose.

I thought about this situation and concluded that merging late is the right thing to do; however, many drivers also do this 'get ahead' behavior in areas where it is not advantageous to all. What I see, is that the best way to ens

I long for an interview like that. I first left the tech industry due to having to deal with HR and the hiring process. I became a chef, where the interview could be moved to having them watch me make a dish or show knife skills. Then out o

Depends. In a mid-sized company, they expect senior/VP technical lead to have something like an MBA. In a small start-up, founders are generally required to be able to navigate both sides a bit. I would really consider it. You can lear

In the current environment, if you already have an engineering undergrad, an MBA would do you best. I am not a fan of the programs, but the degree will open doors that are mostly shut for pure engineers. In many areas and locals, not necess

Maybe it is just my circle of friends, but people seem to be gaining some immunity from media attempts to create a craze. I would bet the headlines and maybe a politician or two would yell it, but I would also guess that the overall reactio

Telco termination fees have been, and are becoming much more so, a hindrance to innovation. The technical part of telcos should have been turned into dumb utilities by now, with the big providers as mere resellers. Thanks, Michael Powell.

Part of the book 1984 was the complacence of the lower class. I am not targeting any class here but pointing out that a culture of complacency by division was a large warning in that book that is often overlooked.
