This was the deal breaker for me when first looking at Angular - loose coupling, progressive enhancement, accessibility and keeping code in its appropriate layers seemed to get thrown out for an attitude that everyone has JS running... it f

I can't click on principal. UK red tops are toxic here and contribute towards an ill-educated society that eats up propaganda without even chewing. Not to be a _total_ buzzkill...

My sentiments exactly, kinda surprised this title made it so high up! OOP has some fantastic applications and may have been oversold to the author for a project he worked on. OOP(s)!

I see your point however I think the other map providers offer competition (BATNA), and would probably want to feature in vehicles. Especially before having to create and provide your own relatively complex solution (mapping is not easy imv

Personally I prefer my users to get to use the best providers of the services they want to use... unless I can actually provide a better service, especially with a luxury brand. I think this is a mistake Nokia made (several times over), the

Hardly an impossible feature to add to a mapping product tho? We are basically talking downloading the map tiles to the device you want to browse from.

There are responsible ways to advertise which I completely agree with (that the adblocker I use respects) - and personally I do make an effort to turn it off for sites with a polite message and clearly need the revenue to function... howeve

I think there is a lot more in this than you make out. Unless you really need specific hardware access that cannot be achieved in the browser alone, creating a mobile app is an unnecessary, very complicated set of hoops, to jump through, fo

I second this question, also, why would you expect it to work? I'd far rather they (or anyone) spent their time on clients (browsers) that support features than address issues which could be resolved by someone using a modern browser.

I couldn't agree more - fixing gender/racial stereotypes in our society is a separate issue from who needs to be hired in a specific industry - as soon as you combine the issue you end up with some pretty daft solutions.
