You've hit the nail on the head with your comparison. That's exactly how I'd felt all these years in school. It's easy to see that putting an averagely intelligent person in a class for developmentally disabled children doesn't make sense,

Maybe the issue with infinite scrolling is the same I've previously reported, about stories from another folder showing up when rapidly switching between folders and then loading more stories (which I originally mistakenly assumed to be cau

It's not just Shenzen. Many large Chinese cities seem to have an area composed of these kind of electronics malls. In Beijing it's located in Zhongguancun, for instance.

I'm working on a Windows desktop app that currently syncs with NewsBlur, though I'm investigating alternatives since I'm not really satisfied with their API. It's built with WPF for a clean and modern design. If you're interested to test it

That's how the Windows Phone and Windows 8 stores work – paid apps can offer a trial version.

Lots of gamers custom-build their own PCs, so as long as people keep playing games on Windows and demand ever faster graphics cards and CPUs etc. the desktop PC should be fairly safe.

It sounds plausible enough but I wonder why Ekirch (the historian referenced in the article) seems to be the only source for this theory? A quick look on Wikipedia [1] reveals no additional sources or scientific discussion either. It just s

See, you're considering this from a US-centric view. There are lots of currencies, so there's no single 1:1 conversion rate.

Oh come on. It's certainly "dirty" to push your app up the charts with fake downloads from bots, but this is just advertising. There are much worse things happening in the world... and in the App Store. Plus however you might feel about app

There's a very strong hint on the site. If you're a developer you should be able to figure it out easily, if you're not a developer you probably won't know how to "remove the disabled attribute" anyway ;)

I've never understood why taxes, benefits etc. all seem to work with step-based functions instead of continuous ones – anyone care to explain that to me? The only theoretical benefit I could see is that it makes/made administration easier,

Good luck. I'm 17 and finishing up high school now but was thinking about dropping out a year ago too. No one but me thought that was a good idea and in the end I guess I was just too undecided to really follow through, so yeah... btw I'd r

It's safe to assume that the overwhelming majority of those returns are because of buyers who saw "Windows" and thought it'd run existing desktop applications.

Can some mod change the title? There's no DRM, only the file extension is different (.m4p instead of .m4a). While .m4p is usually used for DRM'ed files there appears to be no DRM in this case, you can simply rename the extension to .m4a and

Is this with a new .m4p file downloaded recently (i.e. same situation as me) or an old pre-DRM-free-iTunes file?

There's some quality loss but the DRM seems to be gone. Guess it's an acceptable workaround for now. Though I'm confused, since iTunes shouldn't be able to just strip DRM. Maybe not all .m4p files actually have DRM?

Yes VLC supports (some?) .m4p files, but most other apps and devices don't.

Well yeah theoretically you're safer but Apple announced that iTunes music would become completely DRM-free back in 2009. And they've kept their promise, up until now that is. I don't think anybody thought they'd sneak it back in. I was rea
