Piggy backing off this a little, in a similar vain I recently embedded Python in a macOS app (approved by the store) which was a bit of a pain to do. I documented the process as well since I couldn't find a full fledged tutorial on it

Man, that is some nice looking UI. Having participated in a few CTFs, they are a bit intimidating up front. Having this more visually like a 'game' (which CTF is, really) will garner a lot more attention to get people to dig in a

Good to know. The terms may prohibit, but in my observations, I know of many restaurants and small businesses that do it anyway. I'm sure most ignorant of the policy, but how many would stop anyway if still known of it.

Is this more of a reactive approach? Meaning you're hiring a security engineer after a major incident has occurred, instead of proactively ensuring you have the proper infrastructure and process in place first.
