So everything besides the most important part? Real "open source" would for me even imply that all data is freely accessible but this stops way, way before and should not be called open in almost any sense. Just a VC PR play.

For sure. Airbnb can then go sue the host, but the user has a contract with Airbnb not the host. Maybe then Airbnb would start giving a single shit about abusive hosts.

The YC company that wanted to sell fake survey results (yes they really had a launch HN with that idea) will surely be the first to sell fake science results next. YC disrupting sciences

BS governmental desperation to show any "result" (even if it is fake) is what brought us here. As scientist have to show more fake results to get more grants. Removing the government from science could help, not the other way arou

Don't hate the player hate the game. Governments made scientist only survive if they show results and specifically the results they want to see. Otherwise no anymore grants and you are done. Whether the results are fake or true does no

Have a something that they actually care about. They probably get lots of messages and your tool is not important to them/does not solve a relevant problem if they do not reply.

If you say you solve a real problem, you know it is real because you know people who have that problem right? Go talk to them to see if your solution actually solves their problem.

You switch cause and effect, all of that is the other way around. Startups give frequent investor updates if things go well. Startups are alive longer if things go well. Things going well is the cause, not the other way around.

In my city 21 KM / 13 Miles cost about 2 billion euro. So SF pays about 40 times of what is probably already a jacked up price. Even with rampant corruption (lets say 50% of the 13 Billion go towards corruption) I have no idea how that

At 1.500 signups per day (45K a month) 70,000 MAU are horrible retention. Usually you need about 10 times MAU to signups. Unless you can make that happen you have nothing that people actually use and not just try out.
