I’d agree in that I never things like Coffeescript but I think that Rails’ frontend solution since 7.0 of Hotwire has been excellent. Being able to sprinkle just enough JavaScript on server rended HTML works really well. That you can now us

I have a feeling it's one of those things, like owning a Capri 2.8i or one of the really old school 911 Turbos, that is better left to fantasy for me. I love the idea but I'm a pretty rubbish driver and would probably end up getti

When I was a kid I wanted a classic Mini with a transplanted Honda K-Series engine. It's a big engine for that little car but I'd completely forgotten about them over the years. It's wild that people are still doing this: ht

Sorry but I'm going to keep bashing the initiative because: 1. It doesn't stop kids from accessing porn because kids know about or can learn about free VPNs. 2. I think it exposes lots of adults to identity theft on non-porn websi

Not the UK, here fatbikes are mountain bikes just with wider tyres. Something like a Trek Farely or Canyon Dude. They may also be assisted e-bike but not exclusively.

Elsewhere “fatbike” just refers to the tyre size. Pedal fatbikes for riding on snow and sand have existed for at least 20 years I’d say.

The original Nissan Leaf was launched in 2010 and you can still get whole replacement batteries or even just cell replacements for them. They can also be upgraded to increase their range using after market batteries. So we’re already at 15

Meh, there's no evidence given that Ruby is not a "serious" language, whatever that means. His major arguments seem to be that he doesn't like ruby's name. My theory is if the author was in anyway correct in his ass

Are you sure about that? My understanding was that the eCall self test does not connect to a network. That’s stated on the eCall page linked above. Do you have a source that contradicts that?

I love these new approaches to type checking such as this and Literal[1]. I think they really show how far we could go with runtime ruby syntax. For both though I have questions: A. How do I use this day to day to improve my tooling and d
