Sure, humans can react rash when emotions get involved; that's an explanation of what happened, NOT an excuse. I would hope that someone with power in such a big OSS project would have the self control to not act on his emotions and work of

I find this whole argument moot. DNT is binding neither in a legal nor in a technical sense. If you don't trust someone to handle your internet tracking history, why would you trust them to keep an informal promise, ESPECIALLY considering t

Its nice for you that you're advanced in your carrier that coding is such a small part of what you do, but its obvious that theres enough people that arent quite as godlike as you. Good for you. Personally, the one thing vim(and Linux) have

I had the same problem a few months ago and I went with Haskell because it has pythonic syntax(signifcant whitespace) and it's very pure, i.e. forcing you to program functionally. I think in production being able to go back to iterative pro

Isn't that equally the advantage and the folly of consoles? They are basically computers, but locked down. You can't do with your hardware what you want; you get told what's good. Just like with Apple, it's a golden cage; good because it's

Some have argued that even just linking to an article might get you sued. After all, most URLs include the title of the article. Obviously, courts will have to decide, but the possibility alone is frightening.

Frankly, i'm exactly on the other side with this issue. I'm appalled and, if not scared, at least apprehensive, that Reddit throws freedom of speech under the bus at the sight of trouble. I understand that, from a business point of view, it
