Just mentioning ewtoo talkers for the hell of it ... Surfers in particular if anyone is still around. They had the raw bones of Whatssap down 25 years ago Was my on-ramp for using the web for social purposes as loads of Uni peeps were on it

There's a perfectly good Saturn V rocket sitting right now at the Rocket Park, NASA Johnson Space Center. Why didn't they just use that? What a waste of money. https://spacecenter.org/exhibits-and-experiences/

Come on, cut it out ... I've heard this time and time and again in relation to billionaires. It might as well be. It doesn't take a genius to leverage equity ... and Bezos will have effective financial genius working for him.

100% this. I live near a school and witnessing the quality of social interactions from Mums* , encapsulated by their SUV-tanks as if controlling a Gundam, is a sight to behold. * Sorry, it mainly is Mums in this situation. And I'm full

Appreciated the sentiment of it. It's not ideal, but in a non-ideal world where the big boys have ruined the web, I tip my hat to this effort with a large dose of empathy. Cheers,

As someone who has just installed a new kitchen, I can attest this. My wife insisted on a couple gas hobs as the taste is "better" / "different" whereas I just wanted electric. The compromise was a mixed solution. Y

NASA is a large customer of Spacex. Those profits earned via NASA, which go towards Starship development, are paid by taxpayers. It is de facto tax payer funding as there isn't another customer like NASA for Spacex to go to (realistica

Maybe this would be a good interim way to address global tax. 1) BigCo acts in a way which attracts significant local fine. 2) Country/ies in question fines them a representative amount of local tax for a company earning £X revenue in

The British create and design around ideas but don't have the capital markets, the scale, or the will to leverage them globally. They end up selling themselves and their ideas to the world who then go on to really capitalise on them. B

I'm 100% against the embargo of Cuba ... but let me use that as an example of: "it's not as if the US hasn't/isn't doing exactly that in other arenas". But I take your point, and I'm not sure of the s

If that's true, then it's doesn't take a genius to sugget a multi-pronged strategy. 1) Lead be example. If that fails: 2) Import-tax the f@ck out of them, unless they comply with regulations. 3) Goto (1).

As someone with little knowledge of this domain except a few articles and this link, it appears that hydrogen is better enviromentally, but the electric-car lobby disagree. If there is a chicken and egg problem, as mentioned in the article,

Downvoted by "temporarily impoverished" billionaires who've changed their middle name to Elon. I'm not full-on anti-capitalist, but market failures like this are an obvious issue.

It tickles me that even the smallest operator on this list could launch me (in a suitable person-shaped container) into space, and some operators could also even recover me before I hit the ground. Is there a market for this?!
