I used to use sensodyne for cold-sensitive teeth, but they changed ingredients to include something I’m now allergic to. Or I recently developed an allergy to whatever their unchanged ingredients are. I have yet to find a replacement for it

Increased thrust requirements for airliners that force planes to hit an increased v1 (or whatever it's called) sooner on the runway to allow for more time to reject takeoff.

I don't think "while retaining ordering" is something you want to include here, since you can't guarantee processing order for any MQ system without serializing the consumption down to a single consumer.

What do you mean "no concept...of asking?" During consumption, you must either auto-commit offsets, or manually commit them. If you don't, you'll get the same events over and over again.

If the data-center depletes the water table used for surrounding wells, whether the "released water" is still "available" is irrelevant to those dependent on wells for water. e.g. https://www.nytimes.com/

“Probably has a seat at the table for technology direction” is a wild take to me. So much so that I can’t even formulate a response other than “what…?!”

By “independently” I meant that one room could be heating/cooling while other rooms aren’t doing anything at all. Or one room could be warmer/cooler than another. As opposed to central unit’s all-or-nothing approach.

Mini-splits these days are available as multi-head (I think that’s the term) units, where a single outside unit can supply 2,4, or 6 units individually and independently. They’re remarkable, and I would go for a mini-split system over a cen

I would have loved a class on the Theory of Version Control. Unfortunately, I didn't learn about it until my first job after I graduated. Architectures (centralized, distributed), implementations (diffs, patches, full state, etc.), br

If the scammer is attempting to login to the actual account (which requires 2fa), asking the scammee for the code will allow the scammer to login and do all the things. The scammer is using the victim as the 2fa directly.

I’ve been wanting to buy a copy of Flowers for Algernon. It’s easy too, my local Barnes and Noble has it in stock. But it’s $19 (in paperback!) for a book published almost 60 years ago.
