What would that even mean though? Who is making claims of that sort? I feel like it's such a bending of the idea, that it's not really making a prediction of anything at all.

I don't really understand the argument that AGI cannot be achieved just by scaling current methods. I too believe that (for any sane level of scaling anyway), but this-year's LLMs are not using entirely last-year's methods.

There is no goalpost moving here. I read the article. My claim is as it has always been. If we accept that the misquotes exist it does not follow that they were caused by hallucinations? To tell that we would still need additional evidenc

How could that prove hallucinations? It could only possibly prove that they are not. If the quotes are in the original post then they are not hallucinations. If they are not in the post they could be caused by something is not a LLM. Misqu

Having spending some time last night watching people interacting with the bot on GitHub, overall if the bot were a human, I would consider them to be one of the more reasonably behaved people in the discourse. If this were an instance of a

Interesting, I have been doing similar things recently with shaders and tiny MLPs, It would be nice to see field maps to see what the raw inputs flattened out on a surface output. Sometimes it really helpful to get an impression of what i

The point of the test is to see if the subject has had life experience enough that they could restrain their own empathy. Wanting to flip the tortoise back over was why he failed the test.

I don't understand "why did X happen?" presupposes X happened. We seem to be at the level of X pretty obviously did not happen but people believe it did.

This reads like it has been specifically worded to read like it is a claim of something that happened, but when disproven can be pointed to to say the use of the present tense clearly shows that it is describing a hypothetical situation.

I'm feeling the same. AI development actually feels like a similar rate of change. It took 8 years to go from the Atari 2600 to the Amiga. An 8 year old computer doesn't quite capture the difference today.
