Solid point about networking. No one really seems to dispute its presence there and rightly so it seems (again, I'm a programmer not an admin so my personal experience is limited). > Many times you also need to think about what may

I have essentially the same take. The sysadmin at my company prefers FreeBSD for all these reasons (as such that's what we're running), and he's engaged me a tonne about FreeBSD but all I see is an operating system that'

Yes, big time. I've been getting one or two of these a week for the past month now. Glad it's not only me. I'm really curious who's behind it, if the sender addresses were purpose made or otherwise hacked, and where the

Louis Rossmann recently reviewed the Framework laptop and basically said the exact same thing, about them taking a lot of the stress off the soldered USB-C portion and transferring it to the chassis instead.

Not the person you responded to, but doing the same thing. Had tried NewPipe for a while and it was great at first, but at the time it would frequently crash and act janky in other ways that I can't quite remember now. The mobile site

My company (I'm not the hiring manager, just in the know) has been struggling to find any kind of programmer who either knows Elixir, or who is willing to learn. I'd love to help them along because the workload is getting rough. A

Recently moved from a town with an infestation. Returned a week later, and no exaggeration, 90% of the leaves in my neighborhood had been chewed away. Even ones where residents had taken steps to protect the tree. I'm not old but I hav

Jose Valim has a post[0] on the Platformatic blog about how Elixir and Kubernetes can happily co-exist together, and that each solves problems at different levels. [0] https://blog.plataformatec.com.br/2019/10/kub

Honestly I didn't think the purchase was until like, 2017. I'm just as surprised. It kills me that Facebook owns the entry level and stand alone market as well (said as an Index owner). (in response to the edit) I can see that, my

I don't think the Quest existed before the Facebook purchase. The Quest was announced in 2018 but Facebook made the purchase in 2014. Unless you mean before the Facebook login was forced upon Oculus users.

Can you elaborate a bit on how they facilitated remote workers being first class citizens? I'll be in a similar position soon but would like to see some things I and the company could do to not alienate me and the other remote members.

That's an interesting though, like software documentation that hasn't been updated over years of patches. Do you remember where you read that? Sounds like an interesting bit of history.

IMO part of the quality here is these docs are generated from comments in the code. All you have to do is document your functions and modules properly, run a command, and you have an entire set of docs. It reminds me a lot of JavaDocs, alth
