Apple’s ability to wield its market power to force buyers or sellers to use its platform is firm evidence of the sort of power that anti trust laws (if they retained any teeth) are designed to prevent. For example they were able to force

It’s an omission and serious bug for this thread to not already contain the following comments: “Why would I consider this, given that make is perfect” And “Doesn’t eMacs org mode already do this?” — Seriously, looks nice. I’m a big fan of

Your specific claim was not about religious versus non religious students. It was about a very narrow subset of students. Your continual assumptions about me are both wrong and offensive.

Sorry, you mean asymmetric. assymetric is when both buttchecks are not perfectly identical. (Most of my own long term spelling problems are in this same format — I know there’s a double letter, butt I double the wrong letter. (Sorry))

The “fraud prevention” people are told that they are fraud prevention people, even though the rest of the company are “customer service” people. So they build “fraud prevention” systems, and heavily discount any notion of customer service —

Isn’t the claim that it’s preventative not that it reverses or cures existing melanoma? (I don’t see any discussion on that claim, the claim of prevention, and wish someone gave more info there.)

In theory, you might be right. But in practice the biggest investors (and boosters) in carbon capture are oil and gas companies — and for them it’s a way to continue business as usual (i.e., continue to increase carbon output) while hand

Even though that’s a kind of strange and unworkable idea — it’s interesting to think about. Unworkable in the sense that, for example, some elements are not physically positioned inside their container elements, and sometimes even in light

If I look at the times I’ve implemented dark mode — I see that the effect will be: 1. Less lines of code (seems like a good thing) 2. I will still need to use prefers-dark-mode for some of my changes. Thus — the concept count is ratcheted
