I had to do a double take before I realized you were talking about me as well. We live in an information curation economy indeed. I wouldn't say that's inherently BS, though.

Yeah, I'm fully aware that any large company based in China has involvement/influence from the Chinese government at least on the board-level. Even so, I find it bordering on misinformation to frame it as "China does [x]"

I have really good experience with Seeed Studio as manufacturer of Arduino clones (Seeeduino) and boards from many years back. Great to see them getting into the SBC/NUC space as well. Personally I'm focusing on ARM architecture f

One thing you can do is configure compressions, so essentially less recent data has lower time resolution and/or less cardinality. So some dimensions are dropped and you only have e.g. 1h resolution for data older than some threshold.

I'd be curious to hear if anyone has done serious evaluation of high-cardinality use-cases of Victoriametrics.

Victoriametrics[0] is API-compatible with Prometheus but also a horizontally scalable, distributed and persisting timeseries database (cf influxdb). Together with vmagent it essentially becomes a HA drop-in replacement (almost) for Promethe

I've been a bit curious about this and other multi-board CoM carrier boards like Turing Pi[0]. Have you used it and what's your experience? Like the author mentions, pre-4 Raspberry Pis gives sad throughput due to the shared bus;

For the common base image, I just build a normal Debian image, customize it (chroot) and flash it directly. For customization, maintenance and operations you want some sort of CM (Ansible, Salt, Chef or Puppet). There is also Packer, but it

That's the trivial part, but without the conditions I laid out above they're neither useful nor interesting, at least to me. FWIW Circles is implemented on Ethereum, if you didn't click the link.

Bitcoin is also pushed by far-left extremists, anarchists, nihilists, centrists and adherents to loads of other schools of thought. From the BTC-maximilists I've come to known, some very active in the community, I'd say it's

Is it fair to say that * the colonization was a huge net negative and violation of the population at the time * the colonization arguably could be a net positive for current and future generations * the latter does not justify the former ?
