I recently posted this comment during a recent Keybase/Keys.pub thread: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=22996981 Looking forward, none of that seems to matter due to this acquisition/acquihire - it seems clea

There's arguably a lot more evidence against Google than Apple here. But Apple did lie about their involvement, or even knowledge of, the PRISM program. Snowden leaks. I highly recommend Glenn Grennwald's book No Place to Hide if

Nothing the author brings up is really “bad UX”. “Bad visual design” or “ugly”, perhaps (though I don’t think so), but User Experience is only very loosely correlated with “looking good”. If the end result is good for the user, it’s not bad

I think there would be a lot less complaining about the existing unattended-upgrades functionality being enabled by default on dektop, than the new self-updating capabilities of snaps.

This is getting OT, but could you elaborate on your issues with systemd? I’m genuinely curious. I often see people complain but haven’t seen or experienced specifics apart from it being complex and having higher learning curve than initd. (

My experience has been the opposite - developers being resistant to frontend changes, which tend to get pushed through by UI/UX people (which is their job), or in more broken organizations, opinionated managers or executives.
