Docker relies fundamentally on the Linux kernel. Since macOS does not have a Linux kernel, you have to run Linux in a VM first and then run Docker on top of that. So, you may get filesystem access inside the VM. Breaking out of the VM may b

AI does not need a “desktop” at all for itself. So, what this article is talking about is AI driven user assistance on the desktop. And, for that, the limiting factor is what desktop the user wants to use.

If so, us-east-1 may be over 1000 acres of floor space. For comparison, Disney World is 600 acres and Central Park is about 850.

us-east-1 is a region. That means that it is 3 to 6 “availability zones” within a 100 km or so. Each of these availability zones consists of a cluster of data centers. Each cluster is perhaps 3-5 that are a few km from each other. The data

“Compoision”. A typo I know but it would be a word describing what goes wrong with class hierarchies.

I imagine the issue is not having hardware to test. Or, at least, not having a test environment for that hardware. Probably the only hardware they tested for this article was the K3 and the only recent test results they had that were slow e

Haiku is surprisingly usable in practice with Firefox, Falkon, and other browsers available. LibreOffice is there too. There are not that many native applications. But there are a number of GTK and Qt apps that have been ported (like GIMP).

It is ok to work somewhere that does not use git. But how do you not figure out how to do the basics given 30 mins and an Internet connection?

The performance gap will likely close as Chinese hardware improves. This is happening very rapidly. Already DeepSeek v4 is being hosted on Huawei Ascend 950. What do you think those cost relative to NVIDIA gear?

Good luck banning Open Source models. Not only that but other countries are very unlikely to follow suit, so it is just a straight-up productivity tax on the US.

Louis Rossmann Is directly related to FUTO and has passionately advocated for them. Ladybird has taken sponsorship money from FUTO and claims publicly that sponsorship provides no influence.

There are lots of C++ browsers, including Chromium. Happy to see Ladybird using the best tools. The RegEx and JavaScript interpreters are great places to use Rust for security reasons.

By “close relationship”, I assume you mean that FUTO is a financial sponsor. Ladybird has been pretty clear that they will accept money from pretty much anybody but that funding will not provide influence. I mean, they mostly make sure spon

They block all ads in current builds. Probably mostly more performance and to create more consistency when testing a website (not having to worry about errors from lots of low quality JavaScript in the ads). I think they have dark mode alre

YouTube works in Ladybird. Most things do. Biggest problem other than speed is that a lot of the “verify you are a human” checks do not work with it.

If I did not know better, I would assume you did not know about the government murdering its own citizens and/or buying plane tickets for citizens to countries that have never been their homes. Did I miss the uprising?
