This post is a bit messy. The author starts talking about ads and algorithms manipulating us before quickly saying that subscriptions are similarly harmful, except that link is not really explained. It's randomly shoehorned in. The aut

No one is claiming free speech as a defense as far as I'm aware. Free speech is entering the conversation because Elon has made it one of his personal North Stars and this case seems to make him look hypocritical. In the US workers hav

He's pouting, lashing out in anger, flipping people off, etc. He's not acting like he's done with the consequences. It seems like the consequences make him rather upset to the point he acts out.

If the NYT doesn't settle this could set precedent that will have massive repercussions on how all AI companies collect data. This could end up being a hugely important case.

You are attacking points I have not made and arguments I do not believe in. I'm not sure why you're upset or why you expect crocodile tears to buy you sympathy on the internet. Randomly slinging shit at others isn't going to

That's okay because it's cheaper to lock them up, at least in the short term. Long term it's definitely more complicated but the punishment aspect that's associated with the more heinous crimes is a feature, not a bug.

People remain deeply ill informed about the IRA because the media doesn't cover it at all. Normal Americans can't make an informed decision about what's going on if no one is telling them. It's very disappointing.

CNN is making it sound like that. CNN's journalistic integrity compels them to explain that to us. Instead, CNN gives big pharma a nice little PR boost by burying the lede.

Based on the evidence I've seen and my own lived experience I believe that rehabbing criminals works better than punishing them. To me, that seems pretty straight forward. Where I disagree is how much it costs. There are some criminals

It would be helpful to be able to digitally verify different types of identity. Where I live, how old I am, my real name, my nationality, etc. Give the user control over what information is being verified.

Nazi is not a precise word in 2024. A Nazi can refer to any of the following * Militant anti semites. * American anti-immigration Republicans. * Non violent, white supremacist groups. But really what we want to do is kick violent extremists
