If someone is hired to work on your code base, presumably they know the language. They know ternarys work... If they don't then they need to learn. You can't say don't use specific language features because some devs can'

Most positions in the UK will have at least a month notice. I have a friend whos notice is 12 months. At my last job they tried to convince us to accept 3 months notice, this was for even junior developers.

I'm staggered that there are 575 companies paying slack $100k / year. I don't even have anything against slack but what is possibly worth $100k a year from a comms software?

I dont think you need Category Theory to understand / use Clojure at all. I say this as someone who uses CLojure and has at best a very sleight understanding of category theory.

Absolutely this, I've worked on a project that was 450 assemblies and about 5 million lines codes split over a few thousands source files. Without an IDE that can jump between those assemblies and source files it's an absolute nig

Nope. Dont know how much experience you have of trying to hire developers, but the majority out there (even the ones with years of experience) don't pass the most basic of criteria for the job. Our test for hiring is a simple app that

Compared to writing Sql stored procs it feels really hard to write something that spits out efficient sql. You can't run (as far as I'm aware) things like query analyzers like I can with SQL to get execution plans. It can be an ab
