Isn't this something you can only get if you are in at risk group? I can't go to my doctor and just get a flu shot, I don't think?

No, I think this only applies to an infinite amount of monkeys or you wait an infinitely long time. Infinite != million years.

How is it not civil? He said Go is garbage, he didn't say anything of the people who write or work in Go. Go isn't an entity here that can be offended. It's a programming language.

I'm a bit tempted to do something like this. We have an old creaky app which I'm tempted to rewrite in ClojureScript in my own time and then show them it. Worst case scenario they say it's great, now can we please rewrite it

I would second this, CLojureScript is the first language that has made front end seem sane to me. Unfortunately your chances of getting a job doing ClojureScript is probably slim to none :(

Solve loneliness by giving people another reason to stare at their phone. Sigh. I sometimes feel like the tech industry is an episode of black mirror.

Sometimes coding is just mindless typing some boiler plate. It's easy to pay attention to something else. I see it like listening to podcast or something while mindlessly grinding in a game.

I use picture in picture all the time! I have 3 monitors, but still not enough spave to take a full one up with a browser. So if I've got a YouTube video playing I'll pop it out and stick it in a corner of one.
