This doesn’t install hid drivers. This lets you open a connection to a USB device from the browser so that you can talk to it. It’s great because we will finally be able to build web apps that talk natively to USBHID devices like barcode

Every other service business that isn’t a restaurant doesn’t have tips and they seem to be doing fine. What is it with restaurants that makes workers only provide good service because of money? Do food service workers not have any intrinsic

Your example would be valid if U2F simulated a keyboard, but it doesn’t. The U2F key is a non-keyboard USB-HID device. The browser has special code embedded to identify and communicate with U2F keys using low level operating system USB api

I wonder if we’ll get to the point of having two-factor passwordless authentication. Like you need two of the following methods to access a website (u2f/fido2, TOTP, SMS, Recovery codes, tls client certificate, etc.) and forego passwo

In single factor mode (passwordless), your token is your password. So if you lose it, someone could access your accounts if they know your username. The USB tokens don’t store a password, they store a master key pair, and then derives a si

How much does it cost to get wisdom teeth removed in the US and in Taiwan? My dentist in Toronto charges around $400 CAD per tooth for extractions, and that’s with full general anesthesia. The price is the same here with private insurance

That is right. The law in Canada explicitly excludes taxis from the $30k exemption, and taxis must collect gst/hst on all rides, regardless of how much the taxi's sales were in a year. Uber was exploiting this rule by saying the

You could easily add a clause that says if you have a useful 4 year degree from the US, the minimum is $75k (or whatever) and 100k for everyone else. Then new grads wouldn't be at an unfair disadvantage for getting jobs.
