In light of this announcement, it's worth reading the New Yorker's fantastic piece exploring how Zuckerberg's previous $100 million investment into the Newark public school fared. http://www.newyorker.com/repo

If you're unfamiliar with Massimo's work, take some time to read The Vignelli Canon. It's a short work narrating his design principles and an influential design document. http://www.vignelli.com/canon.pdf

One of the reasons I've come to do most of my early stage prototyping in node is that managing npm packages has thus proven much easier than finagling with pip or gem. Ruby installs are especially difficult to manage. Despite the numer

T-Mobile goes down the route you are suggesting: Lower monthly charges if you BYOD with the option of going the traditional contract route. They even push this as a competitive advantage. ATT and Verizon to my knowledge do not offer equal q

I'm under no delusions that I have access to all the hardware and I hope there comes a day when we do. Till then however, it would be unfair to not acknowledge that we have made some strides in gaining more access to our devices by def

Still reading the talk, but as an aside wanted to point out that the way the transcript is formatted with the words alongside the slides is probably the best way I've seen a talk presented in text form on the internet.

I got curious about what you actually did in your phone hacking days only to go to your profile and discover that you're the person behind unrevoked. My first ever phone was the Evo 4G and I spent many hours tinkering with it and runni

I didn't know that Butterick updates the book as new typefaces get released. Given that it's web based, this makes a ton of sense.

A pretty good intro for typeface selection, but I disagree with one of the suggested arrangements: > All in all, there are 4 fonts from 3 typefaces being used here, and they all pull together into a cohesive design. 4 fonts in a setting

Yes, but I would argue to a lesser degree. Persistent usernames on Reddit create a culture of identity on the site. Throwaways with no user history that post inflammatory comments frequently tend to get called out and downvoted. That's

How are you handling issues related to copyright? I don't have an iOS device so I can't tell if the app simply streams the music from sources that have legal access or if its locally caching the music.
