Doh! That's a better link :) It's certainly rewarding and interesting to design the hardware and then write the software in Assembly, and helps understand how simple operating systems work.

Before Bootcamp was a thing the community developed XOM to boot XP on Intel macs (which at the time lacked the legacy bios in it's ROM) so it should be possible I'm not having much luck finding very much information on it though

Some IDS systems do it for you I was using Darktrace at my last job and it would tell us when servers started querying domains they don't usually query so there are products that do it

Some mail systems can tell you if a user is valid or not during the initial connection while some forward to another mail system or delivery process and therefore cannot tell your MX during their conversation that the recipient is invalid.

Yeah, I suddenly woke up with tinnitus a few months ago and while I can ignore it most of the time there are days where it's louder with a constantly changing pitch and it drives me insane

That's a really cool hack, I wonder if it would work on 82077AA or compatibles? I might give that a try later this month after I resurrect my A500 Presumably it should be possible to create a simple drive emulator to spit out that sect

BankID is really nice, I think when I move back to Aus I will feel like I've gone back in time. I don't know about Canada but I feel like if you tried to implement this in Australia there'd be a lot of paranoia over a system

Yeah "it will happen anyway" misses the point that curl will notify you of the failed download before you run it, whereas piping it to sh will immediately run it

I'd play it! One of my favourite mods for Minecraft ages ago was Redpower2 which included 6502 computers you could program to interact with the world via peripherals which was neat
