I'm from NZ. It's also risk averse, and a single economy and currency of 5 million people 2100km away from any other economy of note sounds a lot more 'fragmented' than anything in the EU.

This discourse is so tiresome. There are low crime jurisdictions on this planet that do not have drug epidemics. We know what policies work. They're not pretty, but they're effective. Harden your heart and implement them, or live

you can use yt-dlp and mpv to watch youtube vids. Still need to find the URL yourself but you don't need their website to watch it.

I find BBC articles to be so hopelessly biased they're not really worth reading.

The BBC is a weird publication. They never use interesting language, yet they always make it very clear who they do and don't like.

Question for mac users.. how would you do the shortcut "Ctrl+shift+r" (refresh page and clear cache)? On a standard keyboard, for me, it's: - left hand little finger on left ctrl - left hand ring finger on shift, to the right

Do any front end developers actually subscribe to the "rule of least power"? I was a frontend dev for a few years but I was stuck at the fringes because I wanted to do things as simply as possible. I always wondered if there exist

Those aren't facts on the ground, they're legal fictions for another country. Have you been to an un-recognised country before? I have. It's just... a country. Currencies, police, military, border security. Those are the fact

I feel like you missed the point of GP. There's been many situations in history where enough people stopped believing in their country and suddenly the shared fiction was no more. East German police, judges and tax collectors had a lot

I go by a de-facto interpretation. That way a country isn't defined by people wanting or not wanting to accept reality, but rather by facts on the ground.

Firefox fought against WebSQL. Firefox then re-implemented indexedDB with SQLite on their own browser. Firefox has now largely faded into obscurity.

I don't find qt or gtk to be much different to whatever the windows one is called now. And the unix window managers are far superior. But still, the commandline is forever.

Sorry, I don't think this kind of fear mongering propaganda works anymore. Say what you will about the younger generation, but I think they can see through this idea that funding Israel somehow protects them from theocracy at home.
