WinForms is still actively developed (although it wasn't always). I prefer XML to manually placing controls in a window and clicking around a designer GUI at all times. XML is trivially editable by hand, WinForms auto-generated C# isn&

Not every open source project needs to be monetized. Projects that were created to "scratch one's itch" tend to fare better than those built to make money. Devs put more love and less stress into them than into things they wa

DRM is necessary for streaming services which want to carry movies made by the big studios. They love their DRM. If Mozilla refused to implement DRM in Firefox, Netflix would have just said “you need Silverlight, Chrome, or the native Netfl

There is "IntelliJ IDEA Community Edition", completely free forever. It's missing a few features compared to Ultimate, most notably the web development bits.

It's a very butthurt take about Mozilla agreeing to DRM in browsers. I prefer to watch Netflix or other streaming services in my browser, using its native features, not Flash, not Silverlight, not some native app not available for Linu

This tool is for software engineers, not database engineers. .NET is a Microsoft tool, and one that was tied to Windows for a long time, so most tooling is Windows-only too. What makes Linux uniquely appropriate for database engineering? Wh

The docs don’t make it very obvious how are the environment variables actually applied. And I think .env files are much easier to manage and share. `envelope check` could be replaced with a CURRENT_ENV environment variable in an .env file.
