Finding equivalent content elsewhere is probably not going to happen. The best the service could do is show you Instagram content without requiring an Instagram account.

Writing a simple VB6 app is easier than a simple React app, sure. But things get complicated when something needs to happen in the background — you need threading, and all the issues that come with threads in most GUI frameworks.

VB6 is a terrible, quirky programming language, and it’s a pain to debug, especially if you’re used to modern development tools. Microsoft killed it to push .NET (although originally, VB.NET was promoted as the main GUI language). People we

WhatsApp et al. are doing fine and are the primary choice in Europe. But in the US, for some reason, people prefer not installing messaging apps, and instead keep the default messaging app, which means iMessage on iOS.

I would benefit from the app myself, primarily. And I would need to pay to host it anyway. Others may also make use of it, with no warranty, and no guarantee of me keeping the service running for any length of time.

There's nothing wrong with writing an app to scratch your itch. But this app could be a web app, and I don't see any value in it being a subscription. The cost of hosting something like this is so minuscule that I'd make it f
