The thing is, chatGPT seems to be already capable to perform Google's function reasonably well. If you ask for the top websites about [topic], it will output a shortlist of web links each with a description of the website. You can narr

Salaries for devs in the US are insane compared to the rest of the world, I don't think they can be taken as a reference, especially as most people do not have an easy way to just choose to move there.

"It seems they just mated a security camera with a telescope lens assembly, both of which we've already had for decades." You could say the same for tons of successful products, from instant noodles to ride hailing apps.

Very cool. Some pictures have the same feeling as some post-apocalyptic setting like Fallout or The Last of Us.

No, it makes it an opinion, with no argument supporting it provided by OP... It's not a self-evident truth, at least to me.

That's great information, thanks. To be honest, the range of activities allowed it's fairly reasonable.

I always thought that a "tourist" visa allows you to do "work" for your non-US company, it just prevents you to from "working" for a US company, or being paid by a US company for work done during your visit. I

Regardless of the origin, it was a clearly a protest that resonated with a significant part of society. I find it hard to compare with a tax that will mostly affect people flying abroad for tourism and expenses-paid business travelers.

by Kurtz79 7y ago
Why? The protest that originated "gilets jaunes" was because the increase in gasoline price would affect low wage workers for which their car was one of the main tools for their job. I cannot imagine many low wage workers that dep

Friendly tip, what your company does should be front and center in a post of this kind. It makes little sense to focus on your culture, without even a mention of what you do...

Correct. But the general FB audience cares much less (if at all) about their privacy than the general HN audience. If you were to estimate FB's health as a company based on HN comments only, it should have been dead and buried long ago

I don't think anybody argues that Go is the most performant language available. If performance is your main requirement, at the expense of everything else, then Go is definitely not a good choice. Many consider it a good compromies bet

It still seems to me that B450 are perfectly adequate for a Desktop workstation/gaming PC. Most people do not need a second nvme drive or 10GbE.

No, 2700X which is listed as a 105W TDP part. I like small builds that are a good compromise between performance and power needs, and the 3700X looks sweet on 65W at that price point.
