I don’t think it actually tackles the issue of trust but rather it removes it all together. Originally it was made for irreversible micro transactions where the existence of a trusted middleman made it too expensive for them to be practical

Why would they not allow internal software send out analytics data? At this point it is common knowledge that Apple is working on a new version of OS X that will come out next year.

Anecdotal, but I have been walking to work for the past 2 months and it helps a lot. I get around 12km of walking and 2 hours of exercise out of it. It has helped a lot to balance my sleep as well since I'm usually too tired to stay up

The businesses usually think they have a lot of data because they look it in terms of number of years of data but in practice their datasets are only a couple hundred megabyte large. Yet they setup Spark, Hadoop, and all of that stuff to &q

Just out of curiosity, if the API is already being built in Java, why not just build a single-page-app to utilize the API instead of Django? I'd assume the deployment and overhead of maintaining a single-page-app would be way lower tha

Hey! For convenience, mostly. We used to depend on Mixapanel for analytics and MongoDB was a good drop-in replacement with only 20-30 extra lines of code. I agree that Redshift would be a better choice for complicated queries afterwards but

NoSQL is the most useful when you're dealing with event data which aren't the main part of the application. We use MongoDB for analytics on our API endpoints because storing that kind of data in postgres will add unnecessary bloat

You can start with one server with postgres installed on it and when you need to scale to multiple application servers, you can run postgres on another server. For backing up postgres, all you have to do is setup a cron job that backs up th

Another API specification that I really like is [CoreAPI]( http://www.coreapi.org/ ) . It works nicely with the django-rest-framework (both created by the same person) and has clients for python, javascript, and a command lin

I have been using the beta version of Github's Electron app for a while and hadn't suspected it might not be a native app. It feels very snappy and quick. On my laptop, it uses less than 80MB of RAM

Unrelated to python 3.7, but they recently added this feature that you can add two dictionaries together in 3.5 by doing: new_dict = {**dict1, **dict2} It is so handy and nice

I've been working on something very similar to that. It allows you to connect a SQL database, S3 bucket, etc. then write a query for the data that you want to train the model on. It takes a couple minutes and then it'll expose the
