Absolutely feels like that, if it's true would be a task for DownDetector or similar sites with their datasets. However, this may be the result of increased dependence on centralized services which gain more and more traffic, which is

Totally agree. Googles' golden egg is not the index but the datasets containing searches done by the user (together with location data from Android and Maps, and speech data from Assistant). As far as I remember Google is actually shri

Good point and 15% is indeed much, but the question would be what "unique" means. If it means that the exact same character sequence appeared for the first time, it doesn't mean that the users searches for a term that has nev

Thank you for the setup explanation. I understood what is happening and it is totally fascinating, even if I do not - and probably never can - understand why or how this is happening.

I can say for sure, that Gitlab is not running that slow all the time. However, the services run noticeably slower when the US awakes (I'm located in Germany), which is in the afternoon and evening around here. I have no stats, but i

Even though my builds won't start as runners seem to be blocked, it's kinda fascinating to see those in-depth details about the service and how the Gitlab dudes try to find the root cause.

I can imagine that there is actually nobody who wants to be the new CDO. I mean.. you would have to take over the design lead for the world's most valuable company. Also take over what I've created and build up on this. But also b

You can indeed reference a git repository with a single commit specified, like described in the npm install docs[1]. Not very user friendly, but it works. Example: "dependencies": { "myprivatemodule": "git+ssh

It seems you misunderstood my post, like some others in this thread. I did not decide against Go because of the linked article, but rather because I have the same view on the language that is outlined in the article. I have a big problem wi

I am about to learn a new programming language and I decided against Go just because of this fact. I do not trust Google and reading this article just makes clear how critical the state of the language is in terms of control by the communit

Financier looked absolutely great when I tested it a few months ago. But: lot of features missing (like recurring transactions) and the app seems to be abandoned. At least there was no activity for over a year now. What a pity.

Probably because those people who use the app most do not care about memory usage. Everytime somebody complains about how resource-hungry Slack is, it usually comes from a developer. I rarely see project managers or designers or even client

As there are simply no providers yet who offers ready-to-install packages of all these services (at least I don't know one), you go with that service you trust and that suits you best. Some examples for relatively cheap VPS are Digital
