Caveat 1: My comment was intended to be a supplement to others so it isn't aimed to be self-contained nor exhaustive. Caveat 2: I am a user of Intel Xeon Phi (KNL specifically) on an HPC system. So my view is biased in this way. It

For your last sentence, I’m not sure what you really mean, may be you don’t mean physical capability but more like by chance it’s unlikely. Laser can be very dangerous, especially those used in labs. I remember in my undergrad optics labs w

This comment is a very emotional, irrational response to a very logical analysis. What a contrast. The kind of response is also very childish (, not in the sense I am insulting you as childish, but actually just some kind of reaction that w

I think I don't disagree with anything you said fundamentally, but the main point in the parent comment is > I worry that we’ll now see more broken web apps, given the lack of type safety in Python. I just don't see why "b

A classic problem similar to this would be a flight. If you got a flight departing at 12:40am, make sure you really know what it means. There’s too many people making this mistakes and sometimes the airline might help you out but not always

First sentence incorrect. £850 is not top end. A typical high end camera product would starts at $2000, and nowadays more often than not is $3000+. A quick search shows the top end of Fuji X mount is $2000+. And that’s not even the top end

May be an unpopular take here: comparing the spec, we already knew that (3090 is faster.) We can look at theoretical peak FLOPS (32bit), and also available memory, and internal bandwidth. Of the 3, 3090 clearly wins in FLOPS, kind of a draw
