What's funny is that to solve your server problem, all you needed was a $100 KVM. Instead you did the IT thing and took the long way around and accidentally started what is looking like a successful business.

If it was like my experience, you're told which one it is before you get the vaccine. I was given a 2-page write up on the Pfizer vaccine as I waited to receive the shot.

Microsoft at least doesn't have a reputation for permanently removing access to all of your data because you did something horrible like dispute a false charge. Google, on the other hand...

Sometimes there is no income. For instance, I used to work for a Credit Union. The board members were elected by account holders. The board members were considered "volunteers". They are legally not allowed to receive compensation

Because a lot of people have their Office 365 subscription and maybe just use email. All of a sudden they realized they are paying for all this other stuff they aren't using so they're leveraging it now that they need it.

I agree. If it were up to /r/personalfinance, everyone would have three credit cards and that's all they would ever use and it would solve every financial problem ever. They fail to realize that many people (myself included!!

It's not just Enterprise. Plenty of small businesses use Office 365 as well. They don't all have on-site IT staff, and they often don't have competent IT consultants who keep an eye on this stuff.

Make sure they have time to do it. If they feel like they have a lot on their plate or a higher-up breathing down their neck, then new learning will not be a priority.

Yeah, that's kind of what I've expected. However, having the police report often helps when dealing with the bank if there is any real fraudulent activity. It shows them you're serious.

Start interviewing for other jobs just in case. Also, if you want to stay, try to find a way to compensate for not being on call. Provide an extra value to them beyond what everyone else is doing and beyond what is in your job description.

While I'm kind of on your side, there is an argument to be made for hauling him back in. If you know he's there and let him live there, you set a precedent: "It's OK to escape from prison as long as you live in the woods

You can just get a smart TV and don't connect it to your network. They still have HDMI ports so you can connect whatever you want.

I leave my Kindle in airplane mode for weeks at a time and have never experienced this. I've had Kindles for 6 or 7 years now.

I actually had a job where part of my responsibility was processing this file. It was literally me opening WS_FTP Pro and manually downloading and uploading that file. It blew my mind that this was how we were doing it.
