This particular OP notes they were bootstrapped. That term might mean any number of things here, but I would imagine they had less exposure to losing out. Or at least, I hope they did. What a fantastic win for them.

I have often wondered why nobody takes the open source clients for Telegram and experiments with swapping the backend, so to speak. It’s of course not trivial but one has to wonder if there’s something there.

This is tangential but maybe some of the crowd here has wisdom: are there any apps (iOS or Android) that are built for RSS but have a good experience for just photos? What I mean by this is an app that is more or less Instagram-esque in

Some of this is just preference at the end of the day. I find modern Typescript to be utter spaghetti and arguably worse at the points you’ve listed here.

Requiring the vaccine wasn’t “requiring experimental gene therapy” since we had, and continue to have , old school style vaccines for COVID. I know plenty of people that didn’t want to risk the newer stuff, but understood the collective is

You’re commenting on the central megaphone of one of the biggest VC components in the valley ecosystem. That it has “hacker” is seemingly incidental. This place has always had bad takes from rich people - or takes from people who are seekin

They may be referring to the fact that Firefox is probably the worst on battery of the 3 main browsers when used on macOS. Safari does admittedly set a very high bar though, and only cares about 1-2 platforms at most.

I eat a vegan diet, I'm intricately aware of how this all works. There is no reason for a vegetarian to be going hungry - include a damn egg in your food if you need the protein. I also have plenty of vegetarian friends and none of the
